Sikkusinghearachchilage Karunya Gnanasena's Story

For me, learning English has always been more than mastering a language—it is about connecting with people, opening doors, and empowering learners. My journey at Apax Campus, pursuing the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL), allowed me to turn this passion into practical skills and a professional teaching career.

The TESL program provided an excellent combination of language theory, teaching methodology, and practical classroom experience. Through interactive lessons, lesson planning exercises, and teaching practice sessions, I learned how to create engaging lessons that cater to diverse learners, encourage participation, and build students’ confidence in using English.

The faculty at Apax Campus were encouraging, supportive, and highly knowledgeable. Their guidance and constructive feedback helped me refine my teaching methods and gave me the confidence to handle real classroom challenges. Workshops, peer discussions, and hands-on practice allowed me to apply theory effectively and strengthen my professional competence.

Beyond academics, Apax Campus helped me grow in communication, leadership, adaptability, and cultural awareness. The student-centered learning environment and collaborative community made my journey both inspiring and fulfilling.

Thanks to Apax Campus, I have grown into a confident, skilled, and passionate TESL educator. Today, I am ready to inspire learners, make English learning enjoyable, and help students develop skills that will empower them for life.
